FLORENCE/FIRENZE

ITALY

Living my best Italian life!

Day 73-76

Kia ora! Hello!

So I had this all written out ready to post, then lost the entire thing! Long story short - notes did an update, poof, gone. I have a poor memory so this might lack some details, sorry in advance!

Day 1: short trip from Venice so we had a half day

*Basilica of Santa Maria Novella

*Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore/Duomo Cathedral

*Ponte Vecchio - bridge filled with only jewelry stores.

Day 2

*Our hostel advertises a Vintage Market walk so we went and checked that out. Not overly vintage, but still was good to go see and buy some new things to add to our very small backpacks.

*Pasta & Tiramisu Cooking class - our host was incredible and entertaining, we made tiramisu and two types of pasta whilst sipping on wine and limoncello. The class was nice and small, only consisted of us and one other couple and they were lovely. This was an incredible time!

Day 3

*Day trip to Bologna because I wanted to try the real bolognese. My life is a lie, spaghetti bolognese doesn't exist! Nonetheless, Bologna is a pretty neat city to go see for a few hours as we stumbled across a few sites.

*Before heading home we went looking for the famous wine windows, and we found one!!

Day 4: we booked a day trip

*Pisa - yup, she's still leaning

*lunch with wine, balsamic vinegar and olive oil tastings at a Tuscany vineyard, was really good! Balsamic vinegar is also a lie, well, not a lie but it's not what we get in the stores!

*Spent a couple hours in Siena looking around the sites.

*Last stop was to San Gimigano, we got there later in the day so it was cold, dark and things were closing/closed. I can imagine in Summer it would be amazing though. The view that we caught with the sunset across the Tuscan countryside from up here was rather pretty!

Now on to Rome!

Haere rā! Goodbye!
