SWISS WINTER!

Day 68

Kia ora! Hello!

After all night on the train, then multiple regional trains the following day we finally made it to our location late afternoon. We got snacks and nestled in for the eve to rest up as Day 68 was going to be a super exciting one!

Switzerland was a tight squeeze into our schedule, but I wanted to tick off another country and see the amazing views up from First in Grindelwald. The fact it is super expensive here also meant this could only be added to the itinerary if we made it a quick stop. Challenge accepted!

We woke up early to catch a train from Interlaken out to Grindelwald with homemade sandwiches in hand to try and avoid the large crowds, thankfully we did because the queues were much longer upon return.

Bonus - our Eurail passes meant that the really long gondola that came with incredible views was half the price.

The Cliff Walk was breathtaking. Literally. It was quite windy and cold being back in the snow (this time I didn't have all my layers from Finland to help), then add in the views from 2168m high and I was in shock from everything. After a nervous walk around the cliff on the platform we went inside and had a hot chocolate to defrost and pick our jaws up from the experience we just had. This was a short experience but so damn amazing!!

11am and we were back on our way to Interlaken to wander around, get some lunch and some snacks before heading back to the hotel before an early night.

Short but sweet trip, but it was enough time for where we were. Now onto the

next spot!!

Haere rā! Goodbye!
